Death Note- Qualification -100 words
What qualifications, to be the greatest detective in the world?
They steal children by the dozens, looking for that phantasmal spark. Intelligence, drive, the caretakers mutter restlessly, gazing into their empty eyes.
Here, look at this.
Photos of crimes, lists of clues, texts on psychology, and pages on pages of coroner reports.
The empty eyes fill; a rising tide in clever, clever children fed on knowledge of death, crime, and monsters.
An army of caretakers, trying to built a perfect replica, peering into the slowly changing eyes of the children in their care.
No one sees the monsters they make.
Mentalist- Murder- 100 words
Tiny trails of blood spread across thin grouted lines, staining the white tiles.
How soon after death does it become a corpse?
He kneels on mildew stains and broken vows.
When is it a body instead of a person?
The tub is splattered red.
How long until the blood stops flowing?
He sobs, hand clutched to his face, eyes closed.
What do you say to make this right?
The knife clatters dully when it hits the floor.
Mommy’s going on a trip.
Patrick’s toes are dipped in blood.
It’s gonna be okay, son.
Patrick forgets by the time he’s five.
